Another alternative to traditional metal braces is lingual braces. Lingual braces attach to the rear surface of the teeth rather than the front.
Aside from that, they work in much the same way. The system utilises metal brackets and wires, which your orthodontist will bond to your teeth. The only difference is the position of the appliance in relation to the teeth.
You will still attend regular progress appointments where your orthodontist will tighten the wires, encouraging your teeth to move until they reach their optimal position.
Because they are tucked away behind the teeth, hidden lingual braces are one of the most discreet options available.
